Overview

About the Commercial & Architectural Series

The Commercial & Architectural Series is ES Windows's catalog for commercial, condo, and mid- to high-rise projects — distinct from the residential replacement lines. Armor Pro installs and specifies it for light-commercial and architectural work: aluminum storefront, stick and structural-silicone-glazed curtain wall, pre-glazed impact window wall, project-in and project-out operable windows, and commercial sliding and lift-slide doors.

The U.S.-market impact systems carry the real HVHZ ratings — the ES-8860 window wall tested to +150/-150 psf, the ES-6000/6100 sliding door at +120/-135 psf with multiple Miami-Dade NOAs, and the ES-7500/7600 window wall, all with large- and small-missile certification. A few of the metric storefront and curtain-wall systems are Latin-American architectural products without Florida approval, so for any Florida opening we confirm the current approval on file before specifying them.

Frequently Asked Questions

This is ES Windows's house-brand catalog for commercial, condo, and mid- to high-rise architectural work, distinct from the residential tier lines. It covers aluminum storefront, stick and structural-silicone-glazed curtain wall, pre-glazed impact window wall, project-in and project-out operable windows, and commercial sliding and lift-slide doors. We reference it for light-commercial and architectural-spec projects rather than standard home replacement.

The U.S.-market impact systems are the ones that carry real HVHZ ratings: the ES-8860 window wall is tested to plus and minus 150 psf, the ES-6000/6100 sliding door reaches plus 120 / minus 135 psf with multiple Miami-Dade NOAs, and the ES-7500/7600 window wall and several others carry large- and small-missile certification. Some of the metric storefront and curtain-wall framing systems are Latin-American architectural products without Florida approval, so we verify approval status before specifying any of them on a Florida job.

Storefront is a non-load-bearing aluminum glazing system typically used at ground level and rated for lower pressures. A window wall spans floor to floor and is anchored at each slab, and ES Windows makes impact-rated versions for HVHZ use. A curtain wall hangs continuously in front of the building's structure as a complete exterior skin. We help match the right system class to the building, the floor height, and the code requirement.

The impact-rated members can, provided they carry the right Miami-Dade NOA or Florida approval for the building's height and exposure, which is exactly what we verify before bidding. The non-impact Latin-American framing systems in the catalog cannot be permitted as impact products in the HVHZ. We confirm the approval documentation against the specific opening and elevation as part of the quote.
