About the Manufacturer

About Air Master

Air Master Windows and Doors has been manufacturing hurricane-rated windows and doors from its Barceloneta, Puerto Rico facility since 1974. Fifty years of building for Caribbean conditions (direct salt-air exposure, year-round UV, category-5 hurricane winds) give Air Master a depth of coastal experience few mainland manufacturers can match.

Air Master's residential window line covers Picture, Projected Out (awning), Single Hung 250, and Sliding (Horizontal Roller) styles, all carrying Florida Product Approval certification across the state. The Series 250 Sliding and Fixed window lines additionally hold Miami-Dade Notices of Acceptance under Air Master Awning, LLC, making them certified for installation in HVHZ jurisdictions including Miami-Dade and Broward.

The casement, Old San Juan, and insert-door lines extend the catalog with distinctly Caribbean architecture (jalousie ventilation, arch-top casement geometry, insert doors with integrated storm venting). Stainless-steel hardware on the Sliding line and five aluminum extrusion profiles (Lineal, 4000, Continental, Fin Tube, Design 250) are engineered for coastal corrosion resistance.

Armor Pro is an authorized installer of Air Master's FL-approved residential lines, a particularly natural fit for waterfront and barrier-island projects where direct salt exposure makes Air Master's Caribbean-honed engineering an advantage.

Since 1974, Air Master Windows and Doors has been mastering the design, manufacture and professional installation of the highest quality aluminum and glass windows and doors in our market.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, but only on specific products. Air Master's Series 250 aluminum line — fixed window, horizontal-slider window, sliding glass door, and swinging door — carries a Miami-Dade Notice of Acceptance (NOA) and is rated for the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone that covers Miami-Dade and Broward counties. The rest of the residential catalog carries statewide Florida Product Approval, which is accepted across most of Florida but not inside the HVHZ. We confirm the right product for your county before we quote.

Both are state-recognized approvals proving a product meets Florida's impact and wind-load code, but the Miami-Dade NOA is the stricter of the two and is the one required in the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone (Miami-Dade and Broward). A statewide Florida Product Approval — the "FL#" you see on a data sheet — is accepted everywhere else in the state. Your local building department decides which one applies based on your address.

Air Master has built aluminum windows and doors for Caribbean hurricane country from its Barceloneta, Puerto Rico plant since 1974, using stainless-steel hardware and corrosion-tuned aluminum profiles made for constant salt-air exposure. That makes the line a natural fit for waterfront and barrier-island homes where salt corrosion is the real long-term enemy. For inland projects we also install several mainland brands and will walk you through the trade-offs.

Most of Air Master's signature Caribbean products — jalousie (louvered) windows, insert doors, and the Solutions commercial systems — do not carry Florida Product Approval or a Miami-Dade NOA, so they generally cannot be permitted as code-compliant impact openings in Florida. For Florida projects we focus on Air Master's Florida-approved Standard Windows and the HVHZ-rated Series 250 line.
