About the Casement Windows

Air Master's casement family is mostly a Caribbean story with one Florida-certified anchor. The side-hinged casements swing out for a tight seal and full-aperture airflow, and the line includes the Florida-approved Full Glass Casement (FL #21455) plus four Caribbean-engineered variants: a French Casement, two insert-window configurations, and the arch-top Old San Juan model. The "casement with insert" pattern is the distinctive one, embedding a smaller operable jalousie or storm-guard sub-window inside the casement frame so a home gets cross-ventilation with the casement open and moderated airflow with it closed, a solution Air Master developed for tropical climates.

In Florida, the Full Glass Casement is the relevant product; the insert and Old San Juan variants serve the Puerto Rico and Caribbean market and are largely absent from US-mainland catalogs. Armor Pro treats this line as the FL-approved Full Glass Casement first, with the Caribbean variants as specialty configurations for island-vernacular projects.

Frequently Asked Questions

A casement is hinged on one side and cranks open outward, swinging away from the frame like a small door. Because the whole sash opens, you get full-aperture airflow, and when it's closed the sash presses tight against the frame for a strong weather seal. They suit spots where you want maximum ventilation or an unobstructed view. We can show you how a casement operates against the openings you're considering during the measure visit.

The Full Glass Casement is the one casement in this family that carries Florida Product Approval (FL #21455), built in aluminum with laminated impact glass for residential and light commercial use. The other casements in the line, including the French Casement, the two insert configurations, and the Old San Juan arch-top, are Caribbean-market styles that do not carry Florida certification. For a code-compliant Florida install we work from the Full Glass Casement; the rest are specialty configurations we handle case by case.

The Full Glass Casement holds Florida Product Approval statewide but not a Miami-Dade NOA, so it is not the product we reach for in the HVHZ that covers Miami-Dade and Broward. In those counties we'd point you to an Air Master Series 250 window or another HVHZ-approved option from our catalog. Outside the HVHZ, the Full Glass Casement is a straightforward certified install. We confirm what your county requires before quoting.

It's a casement frame with a smaller operable sub-window built into it, usually a jalousie or storm-guard louver, plus an integrated security bar. The idea, developed for Caribbean climates, is that you can open the full casement for cross-ventilation in mild weather or keep the main sash closed and vent only through the insert during a storm. These insert styles are Caribbean-market products without Florida certification, so we treat them as specialty units rather than standard South Florida windows.

Old San Juan is Air Master's signature arch-top casement, with an arched glass top inspired by the historic San Juan district and an optional operable insert sub-window for ventilation. It comes in two series: a Lineal series with impact glass and a non-impact 2500 series, neither of which carries Florida certification. It's an island-vernacular and architectural-feature window, so we handle it as a specialty piece for projects that specifically want that look.

All of them are aluminum-framed with stainless-steel screw assembly, double-sealed against water infiltration, and built with a channel to integrate screens. The standard colors are White, Almond, Grey, Bronze, and Chocolate, with custom colors available. The Full Glass Casement offers laminated impact glass as the Florida-relevant option. We confirm glass package, color, and screen options on the quote.
