About the Standard Windows

Standard Windows is Air Master's Florida-certified core, the four window styles that cover most South Florida replacement work: Picture, Projected Out (awning), Single Hung 250, and Sliding. Each carries Florida Product Approval statewide, and the Series 250 Sliding and Fixed lines go further with Miami-Dade Notices of Acceptance for the HVHZ, so those two clear Miami-Dade and Broward. Laminated impact glass is standard, with thicknesses matched to each window's structural design.

What gives Air Master flexibility here is its extrusion library: the four styles draw on five profile families (Lineal, 4000, Continental, Fin Tube, Design 250), so an architect can hold one operation style and tune the profile. Armor Pro's interest in Air Master concentrates in this line, specifically the FL-approved and NOA-holding styles, since Air Master also carries a deep Caribbean-market catalog that does not all hold Florida certification. For HVHZ openings, the Series 250 is the Air Master window with the Miami-Dade approval.

Frequently Asked Questions

This line is the one Air Master family with HVHZ-capable products. The Series 250 Sliding (horizontal roller) and the Series 250 fixed Picture Window hold Miami-Dade Notices of Acceptance, so we can permit and install those two styles in the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone that covers Miami-Dade and Broward. The Projected Out (awning) and Single Hung 250 carry Florida Product Approval for the rest of the state but not a Miami-Dade NOA, so we use them outside the HVHZ. We confirm the right style for your address and county before we quote.

Four styles cover most South Florida replacement work: Picture (a fixed pane for daylight and views), Projected Out (an awning that vents in light rain), Single Hung 250 (a fixed top sash over a movable bottom sash, the most common style on Florida homes), and Sliding (a horizontal roller for wider openings). All four are aluminum-framed with laminated impact glass. We help you match the style to each opening so the look and the airflow fit how you use the room.

Florida Product Approval is the statewide certification under the Florida Building Code; a Miami-Dade NOA is the stricter county-level approval that the HVHZ (Miami-Dade and Broward) requires. All four Air Master standard styles carry Florida Product Approval, but only the Series 250 Sliding and fixed Picture Window also carry the Miami-Dade NOA. If your home is in the HVHZ, we install the NOA-holding styles; elsewhere in the state we can use the full set. We handle the permit and pull the right approval for your jurisdiction.

All four styles use laminated impact glass, with thickness matched to each window's structural design and approval. The Picture and Projected Out run up to 7/16-inch laminated; the Single Hung 250 and Sliding run up to 5/16-inch laminated. Laminated impact glass bonds two panes to a tough interlayer so the unit resists wind-borne debris and stays in the frame if struck, which is what lets it pass hurricane testing. Exact glass package depends on the size, the style, and the wind load at your address.

For salt-air exposure they hold up well. Air Master builds these in aluminum and uses stainless-steel tracks and screws on the Sliding line specifically for direct coastal exposure, which is the kind of corrosion detail that matters on a barrier island or waterfront lot. Aluminum frames are strong and slim, so you get larger glass for the same opening. We size and finish each unit to the project and confirm the hardware spec on the quote.

The standard aluminum palette is White, Almond, Grey, Bronze, and Chocolate, with custom colors available for an upcharge. We confirm color availability per style when we measure, since finish options can affect lead time. If you want to see how a frame color reads against your wall and trim, our Window and Door Designer and Visualizer lets you preview combinations before you commit. The full visual workup is at Window and Door Designer and Visualizer.
