Frequently Asked Questions
The PH-4400 is an aluminum impact single-hung window from ES Windows's Commercial & Architectural Series, where the lower sash raises to ventilate while the upper portion stays fixed. It is offered in a Two Lites and a taller Three Lites configuration for stacked openings. We install it where a commercial or architectural project needs a hurricane-resistant operable window with a tall, vertical proportion.
The PH-4400 Two Lites configuration reaches a maximum of 47 by 59 inches, and the Three Lites configuration goes up to 48 by 119.5 inches for taller stacked openings. Both are rated to a design pressure of +120/-120 psf, a strong rating for hurricane wind loads. Since the design pressure your opening must meet depends on its size and exposure, we confirm the required rating at quote.
Yes. The PH-4400 uses laminated impact glass. The standard make-up for both small-missile and large-missile impact is a 1/4-inch tempered + 1/2-inch air spacer + 1/4-inch heat-strengthened + 0.090 SGP + 1/4-inch heat-strengthened insulated laminated unit. A 0.060 PVB laminated alternative is also offered. We help you select the right impact glass package for your opening and its protection requirements at quote.
The PH-4400's base laminated packages carry a U-factor around 0.74 to 0.75, but adding a low-E coating such as SB70, SB60, SB90, or SBZ75 lowers the U-factor to about 0.63 to 0.64 and cuts the solar heat gain coefficient (SHGC) substantially, for example to roughly 0.15 to 0.22 with gray or coated glass. Visible transmittance and SHGC vary widely by the tint and coating chosen. We will recommend the glass and low-E combination that best balances daylight and heat control for your project.
The PH-4400 is available in anodized and painted finishes as standard, plus a wood-grain finish option for a different look. It includes an aluminum-frame, fiberglass-mesh screen for the operable sash. We will go over the finish and screen options that fit your project when we scope the windows.
There is no single price for the PH-4400 because installed cost depends on the configuration (Two Lites or Three Lites), the size and quantity, the glass and low-E package, the frame finish, and the condition of each opening. As your installer, Armor Pro handles measurement, permitting, and code-compliant installation. Contact us for a free, no-obligation estimate and we will measure your openings and quote the PH-4400.
This is ES Windows's house-brand catalog for commercial, condo, and mid- to high-rise architectural work, distinct from the residential tier lines. It covers aluminum storefront, stick and structural-silicone-glazed curtain wall, pre-glazed impact window wall, project-in and project-out operable windows, and commercial sliding and lift-slide doors. We reference it for light-commercial and architectural-spec projects rather than standard home replacement.
The U.S.-market impact systems are the ones that carry real HVHZ ratings: the ES-8860 window wall is tested to plus and minus 150 psf, the ES-6000/6100 sliding door reaches plus 120 / minus 135 psf with multiple Miami-Dade NOAs, and the ES-7500/7600 window wall and several others carry large- and small-missile certification. Some of the metric storefront and curtain-wall framing systems are Latin-American architectural products without Florida approval, so we verify approval status before specifying any of them on a Florida job.
ES Windows is the residential and light-commercial fenestration brand of Tecnoglass Inc. (NYSE: TGLS), and the products are manufactured at the company's complex in Barranquilla, Colombia. What makes the brand unusual is that the parent makes its own architectural glass and aluminum extrusions and then assembles the finished windows and doors in-house, so a single company stands behind the whole assembly rather than buying glass and frames from outside suppliers. We install and service ES Windows products throughout South Florida.
