Frequently Asked Questions

The ES-V500 is an Elite uPVC outward-opening casement window with smooth crank operation, so the sash swings out on a hinge to catch breezes and seal tight when closed. Its excellent airtightness, structural strength, and superior insulation make it a good fit for living areas and rooms where you want strong ventilation and energy performance. We install it on FBC residential projects where a homeowner wants a reinforced vinyl casement.

No. The ES-V500 is a non-impact (NI) window and is not HVHZ-approved, so it is not the right choice for the High Velocity Hurricane Zone covering Miami-Dade and Broward counties. If you need an impact-rated, HVHZ-approved casement, we'll point you to one of ES Windows's impact lines and confirm the correct approval for your address at the time we quote.

The ES-V500 casement is available from a minimum of 24 by 18 inches up to a maximum of 40 by 80 inches, and it carries a design pressure of +60/-60 psf. The frame depth is 3-1/4 inches, with a 2-3/4-inch sight line in the flush configuration and 3-1/4 inches in flange. We'll verify the size and DP suit your opening and wind zone before ordering.

The ES-V500 accepts 7/16-inch laminated and 1-inch insulating or insulating-laminated glass, with U-factors around 0.75 to 0.77 across the laminated builds, the best of the Elite uPVC casement glass options. For solar control you can range from a clear laminated package at SHGC 0.52 down to an SB70 low-E build at SHGC 0.24 and a gray-on-gray package at SHGC 0.33. We'll match the glass to each room's exposure when we prepare the estimate.

The ES-V500 comes in a standard white finish and is offered in flange (standard), fin, and flush frame types, so we can match the install detail to your wall and rough opening. The window is aluminum-reinforced uPVC and ships pre-assembled and pre-glazed. We'll recommend the frame style that best fits your home during the consultation.

We don't quote a flat price because the installed cost of an ES-V500 depends on the window size, the glass package you choose, the frame type, and the condition of the existing opening. Because this is a non-impact window, the appropriate application and any code requirements for your location also factor in. Armor Pro provides a free, in-person estimate so you get an accurate number for your specific project.

ES Windows is the residential and light-commercial fenestration brand of Tecnoglass Inc. (NYSE: TGLS), and the products are manufactured at the company's complex in Barranquilla, Colombia. What makes the brand unusual is that the parent makes its own architectural glass and aluminum extrusions and then assembles the finished windows and doors in-house, so a single company stands behind the whole assembly rather than buying glass and frames from outside suppliers. We install and service ES Windows products throughout South Florida.

ES Windows is the fenestration brand; Tecnoglass Inc. is the publicly traded parent that owns it and consolidates the glass-making, aluminum-extrusion (Alutions), and window-assembly operations under one roof. For a homeowner the practical takeaway is that a large, publicly accountable manufacturer stands behind the warranty and the product. As your installer, we handle the order, the permit, and the installation regardless of the corporate structure.

Both crank open with a handle instead of sliding. A casement is hinged on the side and swings out like a door; an awning is hinged at the top and opens outward from the bottom, so it sheds rain and can stay open in a light shower. Crank windows seal tightly when closed, which makes them strong performers for energy and weather resistance.
