ES Windows Legacy 225 Fixed Window

ES Windows's thermally-broken aluminum architectural line — high thermal performance with premium hardware across windows and large-opening doors.

Legacy Line 225 fixed/curtain-wall system with fully thermally-broken aluminum framing, achieving a 0.19 U-factor with standard dual-pane argon IGUs.

Built for South Florida homes

The Legacy 225 is a fixed-window and curtain-wall system built on fully thermally-broken aluminum framing, delivering an exceptional U-factor of 0.19 with standard dual-pane argon-filled insulated glass units. It ships pre-assembled and pre-glazed with a slim 1-9/16" sightline and a 4-1/2" frame depth, accepting 1" and 1-1/4" insulated glass as well as 1-9/16" and 1-19/32" double-insulated glass. Flush and nail-fin frame options are available in anodized, painted, or wood-texture finishes. Legacy is a thermal-performance line rather than a hurricane product and carries no missile-impact rating.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Legacy 225 (LG-225) is a fixed-window and curtain-wall system built on fully thermally-broken aluminum framing, designed for large expanses of glass with high thermal performance. It ships pre-assembled and pre-glazed with a slim 1-9/16-inch sightline and a 4-1/2-inch frame depth, so it shows very little frame and a lot of glass. We install it where the goal is an energy-efficient architectural window or window-wall rather than an operable or impact unit.

The Legacy 225 reaches an exceptional U-factor of 0.19 with standard dual-pane argon-filled insulated glass units, and it can go as low as 0.16 with the 1-inch SB70 insulated glass and argon package. That low U-factor is the headline of the LG-225 and a key reason it sits in ES Windows's thermal-performance line. We help you choose the glass package that hits your energy targets.

No. The Legacy 225 is a non-impact (NI) window with no missile-impact rating and no Florida Product Approval, so we do not install it in the High Velocity Hurricane Zone of Miami-Dade or Broward. Legacy is a thermal-performance and high-aesthetics line, not a storm product. If you need impact protection, ES Windows's Prestige and Elite families carry the impact ratings, and we can quote those instead.

The Legacy 225 window-wall configuration is rated to a maximum of 72 by 144 inches, which supports tall, wide glass openings. It accepts 1-inch and 1-1/4-inch insulated glass as well as 1-9/16-inch and 1-19/32-inch double-insulated glass on its 4-1/2-inch frame. We confirm the exact dimensions your opening can take when we measure for the quote.

The Legacy 225 is offered in anodized, painted (AAMA 2605), woodgrain, champagne bronze, and white finishes, with both flush and nail-fin frame options. Standard glass is SB70 with argon insulation and tempered glass, with a 1/4-inch over 1/4-inch thickness option and a laminated glass option available. We confirm finish and glass selections on your estimate.

Installed price depends on the size of the opening, the glass package you choose, the finish, and the condition of the existing opening, so there is no single rate. Because the LG-225 can run to large window-wall dimensions and offers premium finishes and glass options, pricing scales with your specific configuration. Armor Pro provides a free estimate so you get exact numbers for your project.

No. Legacy is ES Windows's thermally broken aluminum architectural line, and it is positioned for thermal performance and design rather than storm protection; most of the line carries a non-missile rating and no Miami-Dade NOA. For a project in the High Velocity Hurricane Zone we spec ES Windows's aluminum impact lines (Prestige or Elite) for the openings that need to meet impact code, and reserve Legacy for where its energy and aesthetic strengths fit.

Legacy is built on a fully thermally broken aluminum platform, and the LG-225 fixed and curtain-wall system reaches a U-factor of 0.19 with standard dual-pane argon-filled insulated glass, which is a strong number for an aluminum window. In our climate, solar-heat control (SHGC) usually matters as much as U-factor, so we look at both when deciding where Legacy makes sense versus an impact line.

ES Windows is the residential and light-commercial fenestration brand of Tecnoglass Inc. (NYSE: TGLS), and the products are manufactured at the company's complex in Barranquilla, Colombia. What makes the brand unusual is that the parent makes its own architectural glass and aluminum extrusions and then assembles the finished windows and doors in-house, so a single company stands behind the whole assembly rather than buying glass and frames from outside suppliers. We install and service ES Windows products throughout South Florida.
