Frequently Asked Questions

The MG-600 is a single window family that shares one aluminum extrusion across two operation styles: the casement swings open from the side, and the awning hinges at the top. We install both styles from the same MG-600 platform, and each operation type carries its own Florida Product Approval. We'll help you choose between side-swing casement and top-hinge awning based on ventilation, reach, and how each opening is used.

Yes. The MG-600 is dual large-missile (LMI) and small-missile (SMI) impact-rated for High-Velocity Hurricane Zone installations. The casement and awning variants carry their own Florida Product Approvals, FL29675.R3 and FL29676.R2. We'll confirm which approval applies to your configuration and verify the rating for your opening at quote.

The MG-600 impact casement and awning window is rated up to 38.563 by 76 inches, with a design pressure of +80/-100 psf. That makes it a good fit for openings that need a strong, code-approved operable window in South Florida. We'll confirm the exact size and rating your specific opening can support before installation.

The MG-600 offers both laminated and insulated-laminated glass packages. The 5/16-inch laminated options run around a U-factor of 1.09 to 1.10, while the 11/16-inch insulated-laminated packages improve to roughly U 0.78 to 0.86. With Solarban SB70 Low-E coatings, SHGC can drop to about 0.17 to 0.20, so we'll help you balance solar heat gain and daylight for your home.

The MG-600 aluminum frame comes with a standard AAMA 2604 powder-coat finish carrying a 5-year warranty, with an upgraded AAMA 2605 finish (10-year warranty) available for longer finish life. Glass can be ordered clear, gray, bronze, Solex green, or Solargray, plus Low-E and privacy options. We'll go over the finish and glass-tint choices with you to match your home's look.

Armor Pro installs the MG-600 as an impact-rated replacement or new-construction window, set and sealed to meet its Florida Product Approval. Installed pricing depends on the size of the opening, whether you choose casement or awning operation, the glass package and tint, and the frame finish. We never quote a flat price sight unseen; Armor Pro provides a free, no-obligation estimate after measuring your openings.

Mr Glass runs a deep catalog, and we install across most of it. On the residential side that means impact windows in single-hung, horizontal-roller (sliding), fixed picture, and casement and awning styles, plus a full range of doors: entry and outswing doors, architectural pivot doors, and sliding glass doors including the multitrack pocket slider. They also build a commercial line of impact and non-impact storefronts, window walls, curtain walls, glass railings, and aluminum louvers that we handle on light-commercial projects. We help you match the right Mr Glass product to each opening and pull the matching approval for your county.

Most of the line is, but it depends on the specific product. Mr Glass's premium residential windows are dual-certified to both Large Missile Impact (LMI) and Small Missile Impact (SMI), which covers them for high-rise and coastal work anywhere in the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone of Miami-Dade and Broward. Their value-tier windows and all of their doors carry the impact certification needed for the HVHZ as well, and a couple of commercial products (the MG-275 door and MG-4500 storefront) are non-impact and are not used in the wind-borne-debris zone. We confirm the exact product, rating, and approval for your address before we quote and permit.

Both crank open with a handle instead of sliding. A casement is hinged on the side and swings out like a door; an awning is hinged at the top and opens outward from the bottom, so it sheds rain and can stay open in a light shower. Crank windows seal tightly when closed, which makes them strong performers for energy and weather resistance.
