Frequently Asked Questions
The ES-5100 is the aluminum impact fixed (picture) window in ES Windows's Elite line. A fixed window does not open, so it is used where you want an unobstructed view, maximum glass area, and a tight, energy-efficient seal rather than ventilation. We install the ES-5100 on South Florida homes as a picture window or as a fixed companion to operable Elite units, with HVHZ-rated hurricane protection at the Elite line's mid-tier pricing.
Yes. The ES-5100 is part of the Elite aluminum impact line, which carries current Florida Building Code 2023 (8th edition) Miami-Dade NOAs and is approved for the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone covering Miami-Dade and Broward counties. As your installer, we confirm the specific NOA and that it is current at the time of your permit. The fixed configuration means no operating hardware to maintain, just impact-rated laminated glass that stays in place during a storm.
The ES-5100 installs up to a maximum of 51 by 76 inches and is rated to a design pressure of +90/-90 psf, which is the wind load the unit is built to resist. That +/-90 psf rating is at the higher end of the Elite residential windows, making it a strong choice for larger picture openings. Because the design pressure your opening must meet depends on its size and wind exposure, we confirm the rating your specific window needs at quote.
The ES-5100 starts with a 5/16-inch laminated (PVB) glass package as standard and can be upgraded to 5/16-inch laminated SentryGlas, 3/8-inch laminated PVB, or 7/16-inch laminated PVB. For better energy performance it is also available in 3/4-inch insulated-laminated units with either PVB or SentryGlas interlayers. We recommend the glass make-up that best balances energy efficiency and budget for your home, and NFRC certification for the Elite line is issued through Kahuna Construction Inc.
The ES-5100 is available in anodized and painted frame finishes as standard. It can be ordered with a fin frame, a frame adaptor, or an edge drip depending on how it integrates with your wall, and the glass itself can be painted, serigraphed, or digitally printed for a decorative or privacy effect. Muntins (grids) are available if you want a divided-light look, and we will go over the finish and grid options so the window matches your home.
Installed pricing for the ES-5100 depends on the size of the opening, the glass package you choose, the frame finish and options, and the condition of the existing opening, so there is no single price. The Elite line is positioned to deliver HVHZ-rated Miami-Dade certification without architectural-grade pricing, and as your installer Armor Pro handles measurement, permitting, and code-compliant installation. Contact us for a free, no-obligation estimate and we will measure your openings and quote the ES-5100.
Yes. Elite is ES Windows's mid-tier aluminum impact line and carries current Miami-Dade NOAs filed under the 2023 (8th edition) Florida Building Code across its operation range, so it is HVHZ-eligible in Miami-Dade and Broward. We confirm the exact approval and design pressure for each opening before ordering.
Elite spans the full standard residential range: casement, single hung, fixed picture, sliding window, French door, and sliding glass door, all under one certified system. That breadth is why it shows up on so many quotes; a whole house can be specified on a single line. What it does not include are the architectural pivot and folding doors, which live in the Prestige tier.
ES Windows is the residential and light-commercial fenestration brand of Tecnoglass Inc. (NYSE: TGLS), and the products are manufactured at the company's complex in Barranquilla, Colombia. What makes the brand unusual is that the parent makes its own architectural glass and aluminum extrusions and then assembles the finished windows and doors in-house, so a single company stands behind the whole assembly rather than buying glass and frames from outside suppliers. We install and service ES Windows products throughout South Florida.
