Impact protection, built for South Florida

The MG-4000 is Mr Glass's pivot door, the statement entrance that rotates on a vertical axis instead of a side hinge. That geometry is what lets it carry panels up to 72 by 144 inches, far larger than a conventional swing door, so it is the oversized front-door moment on a contemporary elevation. It is aluminum and LMI impact-rated for the HVHZ, so the drama does not cost the storm rating.

Armor Pro specs the MG-4000 on high-design residential entrances where the door is meant to be the architectural feature, not just the way in. For a standard impact entry with configurable faces rather than an oversized pivot, the MG-3500 covers the opening; the MG-4000 is for the entrance designed to be seen.

Frequently Asked Questions

The MG-4000 is Mr Glass's aluminum impact pivot door, which rotates on a vertical axis instead of swinging from a side hinge. That geometry is what lets it carry oversized panels up to 72 by 144 inches, far larger than a conventional swing door allows. We install it as the statement entrance on high-design contemporary elevations where the front door is meant to be the architectural feature.

Yes. The MG-4000 is LMI impact-rated and approved for High-Velocity Hurricane Zone installations in Miami-Dade and Broward, so the oversized look doesn't cost you the storm rating. It carries Florida Product Approval FL41657.R2, and its rated impact configuration is +70/70 psf design pressure. We'll confirm the current approval covers your exact panel size and configuration at quote.

The MG-4000 supports a single pivot panel up to 72 inches wide by 144 inches tall, rated to +70/70 psf design pressure. That 12-foot height is what makes it the oversized front-door moment on a contemporary home, well beyond what a standard swing door can do. We confirm the maximum panel size your opening and structure will support during the site measure.

The MG-4000's impact glass uses a strong 0.090-inch SentryGlass Plus (SGP) interlayer by Kuraray between heat-strengthened lites. The most efficient build is the 9/16-inch Laminated Clear with Solarban SB70, at a U-factor of about 0.993 and SHGC of 0.194, versus the plain Laminated Clear at SHGC around 0.394. There's also a solid insulated aluminum panel option at U 0.905 for a non-vision door, and ratings vary slightly depending on whether a threshold is included.

The MG-4000's aluminum frame comes standard with an AAMA 2604 powder-coat finish (5-year warranty) and upgrades to AAMA 2605 (10-year warranty), with glass tints from Clear and Gray to Solarban SB70 Low-E and Privacy interlayers. Lock and access hardware runs from a Siegenia KFV multipoint lock up to a Siegenia Smart Lock with fingerprint, keypad, or RFID entry, and the Modular Handles Series can add an integrated LED and numeric pad. We'll review the finish and hardware options with you at quote.

As an oversized statement pivot door, the MG-4000 is a higher-end entrance, and installed pricing depends on the panel size up to 72 by 144 inches, the glass package, the lock and handle hardware you choose, and the condition and structure of the opening. If you want a configurable everyday impact entry instead of an oversized pivot, the MG-3500 entry door covers the opening for less. Armor Pro provides a free estimate so you get an accurate installed price.

Mr Glass runs a deep catalog, and we install across most of it. On the residential side that means impact windows in single-hung, horizontal-roller (sliding), fixed picture, and casement and awning styles, plus a full range of doors: entry and outswing doors, architectural pivot doors, and sliding glass doors including the multitrack pocket slider. They also build a commercial line of impact and non-impact storefronts, window walls, curtain walls, glass railings, and aluminum louvers that we handle on light-commercial projects. We help you match the right Mr Glass product to each opening and pull the matching approval for your county.

Most of the line is, but it depends on the specific product. Mr Glass's premium residential windows are dual-certified to both Large Missile Impact (LMI) and Small Missile Impact (SMI), which covers them for high-rise and coastal work anywhere in the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone of Miami-Dade and Broward. Their value-tier windows and all of their doors carry the impact certification needed for the HVHZ as well, and a couple of commercial products (the MG-275 door and MG-4500 storefront) are non-impact and are not used in the wind-borne-debris zone. We confirm the exact product, rating, and approval for your address before we quote and permit.

A swing door is hinged and opens in or out — a French door is a glazed door (often in pairs), while an entry door is the main door to the home. The impact versions use laminated glass and reinforced frames and hardware tested to the HVHZ standard, protecting the opening against debris and forced entry.
