Impact protection, built for South Florida

The MG-3500 is Mr Glass's residential entry door, the main entrance application in the catalog and the one where the brand's door-design depth shows. It is aluminum, LMI impact-rated at 80 psf for the HVHZ, and it is built to be configured: a range of face-panel treatments and decorative glass options let a homeowner dress the entrance to the elevation rather than picking from a short list. That configurability is the point of an entry door, where the front of the house is the first thing anyone sees.

Armor Pro specs the MG-3500 on HVHZ residential entrances that want an impact-rated front door with real design choice. For an entrance meant to be an architectural statement on an oversized opening, the MG-4000 pivot door is the step up; the MG-3500 is the configurable everyday impact entry.

Frequently Asked Questions

The MG-3500 is Mr Glass's aluminum impact-resistant residential entry door, the brand's primary front-entrance application. Its strength is configurability: a range of face-panel treatments and decorative glass options let you dress the entrance to match your home's elevation rather than picking from a short list. We install it on HVHZ entrances that want an impact-rated front door with real design choice.

Yes. The MG-3500 is LMI impact-rated and approved for High-Velocity Hurricane Zone installations in Miami-Dade and Broward. It carries Florida Product Approval FL26942.R6 and is rated to 80 psf design pressure, both positive and negative. We'll confirm the current approval covers your exact configuration and opening at quote.

The MG-3500 is available as a single outswing panel up to 60 by 130 inches and as a two-panel (double-door) outswing configuration up to 80 by 120 inches, both rated to +80/80 psf design pressure. That gives you a tall single entry or a wider double-door entrance depending on the opening. We confirm the right configuration and maximum size for your entrance during the site measure.

The MG-3500's impact glass is an insulated laminated makeup, 3/16-inch tempered with a 3/8-inch air space plus a laminated heat-strengthened lite with a 0.090-inch Trosifol PVB interlayer. Lock options run from a Siegenia KFV multipoint lock (minimum 8-point) up to a Siegenia Smart Lock with fingerprint, keypad, or RFID access, and the Modular Handles Series can add an integrated LED and numeric pad. We'll walk you through the hardware and decorative glass choices at quote.

The MG-3500's aluminum frame comes standard with an AAMA 2604 powder-coat finish carrying a 5-year warranty, with an upgrade to AAMA 2605 for a 10-year warranty. Glass tint options include Clear (standard), Gray, Bronze, Solargray, Solex Green, Low-E (Solarban SB70 / SB70XL / SB60), and Privacy with a white or translucent interlayer. Combined with the configurable face panels, that lets us match the door to your home's elevation.

The MG-3500 is the configurable everyday impact entry door, ideal for HVHZ entrances that want design choice on a standard opening. If your entrance is meant to be an architectural statement on an oversized opening, the MG-4000 pivot door is the step up, supporting much larger panels. Armor Pro provides a free estimate, and installed pricing on the MG-3500 depends on size, single versus double configuration, glass and hardware selections, and the condition of the opening.

Mr Glass runs a deep catalog, and we install across most of it. On the residential side that means impact windows in single-hung, horizontal-roller (sliding), fixed picture, and casement and awning styles, plus a full range of doors: entry and outswing doors, architectural pivot doors, and sliding glass doors including the multitrack pocket slider. They also build a commercial line of impact and non-impact storefronts, window walls, curtain walls, glass railings, and aluminum louvers that we handle on light-commercial projects. We help you match the right Mr Glass product to each opening and pull the matching approval for your county.

Most of the line is, but it depends on the specific product. Mr Glass's premium residential windows are dual-certified to both Large Missile Impact (LMI) and Small Missile Impact (SMI), which covers them for high-rise and coastal work anywhere in the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone of Miami-Dade and Broward. Their value-tier windows and all of their doors carry the impact certification needed for the HVHZ as well, and a couple of commercial products (the MG-275 door and MG-4500 storefront) are non-impact and are not used in the wind-borne-debris zone. We confirm the exact product, rating, and approval for your address before we quote and permit.

A swing door is hinged and opens in or out — a French door is a glazed door (often in pairs), while an entry door is the main door to the home. The impact versions use laminated glass and reinforced frames and hardware tested to the HVHZ standard, protecting the opening against debris and forced entry.
