On a bypass EAS 6000 the panels slide past each other and stack in front of the wall, and this configuration carries the higher +80/-80 psf design pressure. A pocket configuration slides the panels fully into a wall cavity for a clean open look, but it's rated to +45/-45 psf, so it suits lower wind-load openings. The standard air-filled clear glass on the EAS 6000 runs about a 0.45 U-factor, but stepping up to an E240 Low-E glass with argon brings the U-factor down to 0.28, the SHGC to 0.20, and the condensation resistance up to 57. The EAS 6000 comes standard with a mortise lock and wood handle and tandem rollers for smooth operation, with a secondary mortise added on doors over 80 inches. You can upgrade to a metal Apollo handle set or a keyed Apollo set, and a stainless steel option is available for coastal durability. Panel screens are available and require an additional track, and finishes are White or Bronze.
As the value-tier slider, the EAS 6000 is the more affordable of the EAS aluminum doors, but installed price still depends on the width and number of tracks, the glass package, the handle and screen options, and the condition of the existing opening, so we don't quote a flat rate. Yes. Every door in the aluminum line is impact-rated and carries statewide Florida Product Approval with an HVHZ-approved designation under the Florida Building Code, the certification required for the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone. EAS uses the FBC approval route rather than a separate Miami-Dade NOA; that FBC HVHZ approval is accepted in Miami-Dade and Broward. If a project's spec specifically requires an NOA citation, we will flag it, since EAS does not file those.
