About the Aluminum Doors

The EAS Aluminum Doors family is the company's full aluminum door portfolio on one extrusion platform, which means a project can match finish and hardware across every door opening. It spans four products: the value-tier 6000 sliding glass door, the multi-track pocketing 7000, the premium dual-tandem-roller FD 8100, and the 5000 French door. All four are HVHZ-certified for South Florida, so the whole door package clears Miami-Dade and Broward.

Armor Pro specs from the Aluminum Doors line by opening and budget: the 6000 for a standard patio slider, the 7000 when the panels need to pocket into a wall, the FD 8100 for the largest and heaviest sliding openings, and the 5000 when the design wants a hinged French pair. For a vinyl impact slider instead of aluminum, the EAS Vinyl Doors line (the Bertha 623 and the 650 pocketing door) covers the same role.

Frequently Asked Questions

Four products on one aluminum extrusion platform: the value-tier 6000 sliding glass door, the multi-track pocketing 7000, the premium dual-tandem-roller FD 8100, and the 5000 French (hinged) door. Building them on a shared platform means a project can keep finish and hardware consistent across every door opening. All four are impact-rated for South Florida.

Yes. Every door in the aluminum line is impact-rated and carries statewide Florida Product Approval with an HVHZ-approved designation under the Florida Building Code, the certification required for the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone. EAS uses the FBC approval route rather than a separate Miami-Dade NOA; that FBC HVHZ approval is accepted in Miami-Dade and Broward. If a project's spec specifically requires an NOA citation, we will flag it, since EAS does not file those.

We spec by opening and budget. The 6000 is the straightforward, cost-conscious patio slider; the 7000 is the one when you want panels to pocket into the wall; the FD 8100 is the premium slider for the largest and heaviest openings, with dual tandem rollers and weep holes for water shedding; and the 5000 is the choice when the design calls for a hinged French pair instead of a slider. The 5000 French can also take an optional ADA-friendly low-clearance sill.

Aluminum frames are stiffer, so they carry higher design pressures, support larger and heavier panels, and handle the widest openings better than vinyl. They are the right call for big indoor-outdoor walls and the most exposed elevations, and they read as more commercial-grade. Vinyl (the 623 Bertha and 650 lines) wins on cost and insulation for standard openings. We match the door to the opening size, exposure, and look you want.

All four come in White and Bronze. Glass is laminated impact, with insulated impact available, and the FD 8100 has the widest glass range of the group including a tempered impact option. If you want a black or custom-color slider, that is a finish EAS aluminum doors do not offer, and we can show you alternatives. You can preview door styles in our Window and Door Designer and Visualizer.
