Overview

About the ClassicVue Max Aluminum

ClassicVue Max is PGT's premium aluminum window for the parts of Florida that sit outside the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone. It is non-impact, so it belongs on inland and non-HVHZ coastal counties where the building code does not require laminated glazing, and it is built to a coastal standard rather than a builder-basic one: the same EnergyShield, EnergyShield Max, and Solar Control Low-E2 glass packages PGT puts on WinGuard Aluminum, the full four-color aluminum palette, and a Limited Lifetime Warranty. A homeowner who wants the look, finish options, and glass performance of the flagship line, but whose address does not require impact glass, lands here.

The line runs the common operation styles on an aluminum frame: single hung, horizontal roller, casement, awning, picture, and a sliding glass door. Aluminum keeps sightlines narrow and handles larger openings than vinyl, which suits the wide elevations common on coastal non-HVHZ homes.

The distinction to keep straight is impact. ClassicVue Max is not tested or approved for the HVHZ; any opening that needs a Notice of Acceptance calls for WinGuard. Above it sits WinGuard for impact work, and below it sits Scout, PGT's builder-grade non-impact aluminum line. Armor Pro specs ClassicVue Max when a non-HVHZ project still wants premium glass and finishes, and steps up to WinGuard the moment the address or the owner's risk tolerance calls for laminated impact glazing.

Frequently Asked Questions

No — ClassicVue Max is a non-impact aluminum line, so it can't be installed in the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone of Miami-Dade and Broward, and it doesn't carry the Miami-Dade NOAs the impact lines do. It's built for Florida counties outside the HVHZ where the code does not require laminated impact glazing. Any opening that needs storm certification calls for WinGuard Aluminum instead, which is the impact line above it in the catalog.

ClassicVue Max is the premium non-impact aluminum tier, built to a coastal standard rather than a builder-basic one. It carries the same EnergyShield, EnergyShield Max, and Solar Control Low-E glass packages and the same full four-color aluminum palette as the flagship WinGuard Aluminum line, plus a Limited Lifetime Warranty. The aluminum construction is engineered to resist salt, heat, and moisture. It's the choice for a non-HVHZ home that still wants premium glass and finishes.

The line covers single hung, horizontal roller, casement, awning, picture, and a sliding glass door, in white, bronze, black, and clear anodized finishes. The narrow aluminum sightlines and larger size capacity suit the wide elevations common on coastal non-HVHZ homes. We match the style and finish to your elevation and confirm the glass package on the order.

It's the premium step in PGT's non-impact aluminum range: above the builder-grade Scout line and below the impact-rated WinGuard Aluminum line. If your address is inside the HVHZ — or you simply want storm protection regardless of code — ClassicVue Max won't qualify and we move you to WinGuard. We use it specifically where a non-HVHZ project still wants the look, glass, and finish options of the flagship line without paying for impact glazing.
