Overview

About the Lifestyle Series

Lifestyle is Pella's best-selling line, a wood-clad mid-tier that covers seven window styles plus bay and bow assemblies and hinged and sliding patio doors. It is the volume Pella product across most of the country, and in Florida it is Florida-Product-Approval listed for non-HVHZ residential and light commercial work. For most of the state outside Miami-Dade and Broward, that is the line that delivers the Pella clad-wood look at a mid-tier price.

The impact exception is narrow: the Lifestyle Double Hung is available in a separate Impact-Resistant configuration (FL #20349) for projects that need impact glazing outside the HVHZ. Armor Pro specs Lifestyle on inland and non-HVHZ Florida homes that want Pella's clad-wood windows at the volume price. Inside the hurricane zone, where the code requires a Miami-Dade NOA across the board, the Pella answer is HurricaneShield or Reserve Impact rather than Lifestyle.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. Lifestyle is Florida Product Approval listed for non-HVHZ residential and light-commercial work, but it does not carry the Miami-Dade NOA required inside the High Velocity Hurricane Zone. For a Miami-Dade or Broward project we move to HurricaneShield (vinyl) or Reserve Impact (clad-wood). Lifestyle is the right Pella line for inland and non-HVHZ addresses across most of the rest of the state.

Mostly not. Lifestyle is a non-impact clad-wood line, with one narrow exception: the Double-Hung is offered in a separate Impact-Resistant configuration (FL #20349) for projects outside the HVHZ that need impact glazing. Every other style in the line is standard non-impact glass. If your project needs impact protection across the board, we'd usually spec a true impact line rather than rely on the single Lifestyle impact option.

Read that one carefully. Lifestyle's base windows ship at roughly DP30, and they reach DP50 only with a field-installed DP Enhancement Kit that requires tempered glass. If the quote doesn't explicitly include the kit, the installed unit is the lower-rated version, which may not clear the design-pressure requirement many coastal counties now expect. We confirm whether the kit is included and whether the resulting rating actually clears your jurisdiction before you order.

Lifestyle is Pella's volume best-selling clad-wood mid-tier line, an aluminum-clad exterior over a wood interior, covering seven window styles (casement, awning, single-hung, double-hung, picture, sliding, and specialty shapes) plus bay and bow assemblies, hinged patio doors, and sliding patio doors. It delivers the Pella wood look at a mid-tier price. We use it on non-HVHZ Florida homes where the owner wants real wood interiors without the premium of Reserve.

Not really, in the Florida context. Lifestyle markets a Sound Control package using mixed-thickness glass to raise its sound rating, but laminated impact glass already does much the same thing as a byproduct of the interlayer that stops debris. If you're in an area that requires or benefits from impact glazing, you tend to get the noise reduction without paying for a separate sound upgrade. We compare the glass packages so you're not paying twice for the same benefit.
