Frequently Asked Questions
The Series 595 is ECO's new-generation Eco-Novo fixed window built on a deep casement-style aluminum frame, so a non-opening unit reads exactly like the 575 and 585 crank-out operables beside it. We install it where you want a fixed pane for light and views in an elevation that mixes operating and fixed units without a visible style break. It comes as a single leaf or as a double-leaf unit joined by an integral mullion.
A single fixed leaf runs up to 40 inches wide by 76 inches tall. For wider openings, the double configuration joins two leaves with ECO's E588 integral mullion and reaches 80 inches wide at the same 76-inch height. We measure your rough opening and confirm the exact configuration with ECO before ordering.
The Series 595 is rated for both large- and small-missile impact (LMI and SMI) at a design pressure of +60/-60 psf in both the single and double configurations, and it carries Florida Product Approval FL47225 with HVHZ approval for Miami-Dade and Broward. Even though it never opens, it provides the same hurricane protection as the operable units it matches. We verify the required design pressure for your specific opening at quote.
Both are fixed lites, but they belong to different generations of ECO's casement family. The Series 550 is styled to pair with the original Series 500 casement, while the 595 is part of the newer Eco-Novo platform and uses the deeper frame that matches the 575 casement and 585 awning. If your project uses Eco-Novo operables, we spec the 595 so the fixed and operating units share the same sightlines.
The standard glass is a 9/16-inch laminated makeup with two quarter-inch lites over a 0.090-inch PVB interlayer, and ECO also offers an 11/16-inch insulated laminated package where you want better energy performance. False muntins are available if you want a divided-lite look on the fixed pane. We'll match the glass and grille pattern to the operable units in the same elevation on your quote.
Installed cost depends on whether you need a single leaf or the wider double-leaf unit with the integral mullion, the glass package you choose, and the condition of the existing opening. Because the 595 has no crank hardware, it is typically more economical than a comparable 575 casement or 585 awning of the same size. Armor Pro provides a free, no-obligation estimate after measuring your openings.
Both crank open with a hand operator, but a casement is hinged on the side and swings out like a door, while an awning is hinged at the top and projects outward from the bottom. ECO's Series 500 is the outswing casement, the Series 560 is the project-out awning, and the Series 550 is a matching fixed lite. Awnings are popular because they can stay open for ventilation during light rain.
A casement's whole sash swings open, so you get nearly the full opening for ventilation versus the half you get on a single hung, plus a cleaner contemporary sightline with no meeting rail across the glass. The multipoint lock pulls the sash tight against the frame, which helps the seal. The trade-off is the swing-out operation, which we check against walkways and patios during measurement.
Yes. ECO's residential aluminum impact lines carry Miami-Dade Notices of Acceptance and Florida Product Approvals, which makes them eligible to install in the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone (Miami-Dade and Broward counties). The exact wind ratings depend on the specific series, size, and configuration, so we confirm the right product for your opening on the quote. We pull the permit and submit the approval documents as part of every job.
