Frequently Asked Questions
The ES-FS30 is a structural glass railing from ES Windows's Railing & Guardrail line, built on an aluminum frame for balconies, terraces, stairs, and edge protection where you want an unobstructed view. It comes in straight, curved, and modular configurations, so it can follow a flat run or wrap a rounded balcony edge. We install it along coastal balconies and terraces, often on the same project as impact windows and doors.
Both the straight and curved configurations of the ES-FS30 reach a maximum module size of about 51.75" wide by 44" tall, and both are rated to a design pressure of +84/-84 psf. Larger runs are built up from multiple modules across the span. We'll confirm the module sizing and DP rating your balcony needs when we measure for the quote.
Yes. The ES-FS30 offers impact-tested laminated glass makeups, including a G1 option built for Large-Missile-Impact (LMI) using 3/16" fully tempered glass with a 0.060 SGP interlayer and a G2 option for Small-Missile-Impact (SMI) with a 0.035 SGP interlayer. A G3 makeup with a heavier 0.12 SGP interlayer is also available. We'll confirm the exact glass makeup and the approval that fits your installation at the time of quote.
The ES-FS30 uses laminated safety glass in three makeups: G1-LMI (3/16" FT + 0.060 SGP + 3/16" FT), G2-SMI (3/16" FT + 0.035 SGP + 3/16" FT), and G3 (3/16" FT + 0.12 SGP + 3/16" FT). All three are fully tempered laminated glass with a SentryGlas (SGP) interlayer, which is what gives the railing its strength and post-impact integrity. We'll help you pick the makeup that matches your wind exposure and code requirements.
Yes. The ES-FS30 frame is built from 6005-T5 aluminum alloy with finishes available through ALUTIONS, and the glass itself can be ordered painted, with serigraphy, or digitally printed for added privacy or a decorative look. Combined with the straight, curved, and modular configuration options, that gives you a lot of flexibility on appearance. We'll review the finish and glass options with you during the site visit.
Installed pricing for the ES-FS30 depends on the total length of the run, the number of glass modules, whether you need straight or curved sections, the glass makeup and any printed or painted glass, and how the railing anchors to your structure. Because every railing run is different, we don't quote a flat rate. Armor Pro provides a free estimate after measuring the area and confirming the configuration.
It is ES Windows's structural glass railing catalog: modular post and postless glass guardrails, a railing-gate system, glass windscreens (cortavientos), floating-glass railings, and balcony dividers. The systems ship factory pre-assembled and pre-glazed and are designed to be embedded in concrete or grout. We reference them mainly on coastal balcony, terrace, and rooftop-amenity projects.
Several members are impact-tested for coastal use; the ES-RG110 railing-gate, for example, is engineered for design loads up to plus and minus 145 psf, and the windscreen and some guardrail systems carry large- and small-missile testing. Because approval coverage can be configuration-dependent, we verify the specific rating and any Florida or Miami-Dade approval against your project's location and railing height before specifying.
ES Windows is the residential and light-commercial fenestration brand of Tecnoglass Inc. (NYSE: TGLS), and the products are manufactured at the company's complex in Barranquilla, Colombia. What makes the brand unusual is that the parent makes its own architectural glass and aluminum extrusions and then assembles the finished windows and doors in-house, so a single company stands behind the whole assembly rather than buying glass and frames from outside suppliers. We install and service ES Windows products throughout South Florida.
