About the European uPVC Series (V76 / V88)

The European uPVC Series (V76 / V88) is a different animal from both ES Windows's aluminum catalog and Armor Pro's aluminum impact lines. These tilt-turn and lift-slide systems are engineered in the European tradition for thermal and acoustic performance and Passive House alignment rather than Florida missile-impact.

Across most of the range the published material shows no design-pressure rating or Florida Product Approval — the V88 lift-slide door, with a large-missile-impact claim, is the main exception. So for a code-driven HVHZ opening we steer homeowners to an impact-approved aluminum line, and we confirm any uPVC approval status before relying on it. Where energy and acoustic comfort lead and impact code allows, the tilt-turn glazing is a genuinely premium option.

A tilt-turn is a single sash with dual-axis European hardware: turn the handle one way and the sash swings inward like a casement for full ventilation, egress, and cleaning; turn it the other way and the top tilts inward for secure trickle ventilation while the window stays mostly closed. It is the standard operable window across Europe and the V76 and V88 series both offer it. U.S. buyers rarely see it because American windows default to single- and double-hung and sliders.

A lift-slide is a large patio door where turning the handle lifts the heavy panel off its weather seal onto rollers so it glides easily, then drops it back onto a high-performance gasket for an airtight seal when closed. It moves bigger, heavier panels than a standard slider and seals far better. In this series it is the V88 lift-slide, which is also the only uPVC unit with a large-missile-impact claim.

uPVC (vinyl) frames have naturally low thermal conductivity, so they reach strong energy and acoustic numbers without needing a thermal break the way aluminum does, which is why this series chases Passive House and energy-code performance. The trade-off in South Florida is that these units lead on comfort and quiet, not on Miami-Dade missile-impact certification. We are candid that for storm protection in the HVHZ, the aluminum impact lines are the proven path.
