Frequently Asked Questions

The ES-SGD1010T is a Prestige-line impact sliding glass door built for openings where you want the widest, clearest view possible. Its narrow, minimal-sightline design uses less aluminum and more glass, with a 1-1/8" interlock sight line and a low 1-7/8" sill height, so it works well for patios, balconies, and pool-deck openings on South Florida homes. We install it in two-, three-, or four-track layouts and can also do a pocket configuration where the panels slide fully into the wall.

Yes. The ES-SGD1010T carries Large-Missile-Impact (LMI) certification and is HVHZ-approved, so it is eligible for installation in the High Velocity Hurricane Zone that covers Miami-Dade and Broward counties. We confirm the exact approval that applies to your specific configuration and opening at the time of quote.

In the two-track (OX/XO) layout the ES-SGD1010T reaches a maximum panel size of about 63.3" wide by 134.9" tall, and the three- and four-track layouts go up to roughly 63.3" by 134.25". All of these configurations are rated to a design pressure of +75/-75 psf. We'll confirm the size and DP rating your opening needs at quote, since it depends on your exposure and wind zone.

The ES-SGD1010T accepts three glass packages: G2 laminated 9/16" with SGP interlayer, G1 insulated-laminated 1-5/16", and a G3 insulated non-impact 1-1/8" option. With the SB70 Clear insulated package the door tests at a U-factor of 0.34 and a SHGC of 0.24, which helps with both heat gain and energy efficiency in our climate. We'll help you pick the package that fits your impact and energy goals.

Because the ES-SGD1010T is part of ES Windows's Prestige line, it can be ordered in standard anodized and painted aluminum finishes as well as the Prestige wood-grain palette, which includes Teka, Sapelly, Nogal, Embero, Sunstorm, and Arcadia. The frame is built from 6063-T6 and 6005-T5 aluminum alloys. We'll review the available finish samples with you so the door matches your home.

Installed pricing for the ES-SGD1010T depends on the size of the opening, the number of tracks and panels, the glass package you choose, and the condition of the existing opening. Because every project is different, Armor Pro provides a free, no-obligation estimate after measuring your opening and confirming the configuration. We handle the full installation, including the sill and anchoring details.

Yes. Prestige is ES Windows's premium aluminum impact line and carries Miami-Dade NOAs across its windows and doors for HVHZ use in Miami-Dade and Broward, including thermally broken variants. Exact design pressures depend on the product and opening size, which we confirm against your address before ordering.

Prestige is built around large-format and statement openings: the PSD5030 pivot door (a 2024 Glass Magazine award winner), the FX3050 folding door with panels up to roughly 8 by 16 feet, the 16-panel BF5010T bi-fold, and impact sliding glass doors. These are the openings homeowners want to disappear, and Prestige is engineered to make them disappear while keeping an HVHZ impact rating. We size and configure the door system to your opening during the consultation.

ES Windows is the residential and light-commercial fenestration brand of Tecnoglass Inc. (NYSE: TGLS), and the products are manufactured at the company's complex in Barranquilla, Colombia. What makes the brand unusual is that the parent makes its own architectural glass and aluminum extrusions and then assembles the finished windows and doors in-house, so a single company stands behind the whole assembly rather than buying glass and frames from outside suppliers. We install and service ES Windows products throughout South Florida.
