Frequently Asked Questions

The 3000 Picture is built on heavy-duty 6063-T6 aluminum extrusion with heat-strengthened glass, which gives it the strength to span very large fixed openings while keeping a narrow, clean frame. Aluminum holds its shape over tall spans better than vinyl, which is why EAS uses it for big picture windows that go up to 120 inches tall. We typically recommend it where you want a large, modern, slim-sightline view.

Yes. The 3000 Picture builds up to 48 inches wide by 120 inches tall, so a single fixed unit can reach a full 10 feet of height for a dramatic vertical view. It uses concealed fasteners so the elevation stays clean with no visible screws. We measure the opening and confirm the buildable size with EAS before ordering.

The 3000 Picture is available in a thinner 7/16-inch laminated glass and a 1-1/16-inch insulated laminated package with argon, with both SentryGlas Plus (SGP) and PVB interlayer options. The insulated argon packages perform much better on energy, reaching a U-factor of 0.41 versus around 1.02 for the monolithic laminated glass. We help you choose between them based on your energy goals and the design pressure your opening needs.

With the insulated E340 Low-E laminated package the 3000 Picture gets the SHGC down to 0.17, and the E366 gray laminated option reaches 0.24 with reduced visible transmittance for glare control. Because picture windows are usually the largest glass area in a room, the lower-SHGC packages can make a real difference on cooling load. We'll walk through the options when we quote your project.

The 3000 Picture is offered in White as standard and Bronze. For grids you can choose Grids Between Glass, Simulated Divided Light, or Colonial, Prairie, and Perimeter patterns. We'll show you the finish and grid combinations that suit your home when we put together your estimate.

Installed price depends on the size of the glass area, whether you choose the laminated or insulated argon package and SGP or PVB interlayer, the finish, and the condition of the existing opening, so we don't quote a flat rate. A tall 48-by-120 insulated unit will cost more than a smaller monolithic-glass window. Armor Pro provides a free, no-obligation estimate after measuring your opening.

The 3000 Series is EAS's aluminum impact picture window, a single-purpose line for fixed (non-opening) glass. It is built on heavy-duty 6063-T6 aluminum with heat-strengthened laminated glass and concealed fasteners, which keeps the frame narrow and the sightlines clean. Aluminum lets the glass go large while the frame stays slim, which is the whole point of a picture window.

Up to 48 by 120 inches, depending on the glass package and design pressure you need. It uses concealed fasteners and a uniform exterior look across its different pressure ratings, so the same window can be specified at different ratings on different elevations of one home without the outside appearance changing. We confirm the maximum size for your specific opening and exposure on the quote.
